Counseling in Bhutan & Ireland, Powerscourt Garden & Glendalough - August 5, 2016

August 5, 2016

Counseling in Bhutan, Practicing as a Counselor in Ireland, Visits to Powerscourt House & Garden, Glendalough, and dinner at Johnny's Fox's Pub.

The day began with a presentation by Dr. Scott Hinkle, Director of Professional Development, National Board for Certified Counselors. It was very interesting to hear about Bhutan and the amazing development taking place in regards to counseling. Dr. Hinkle gave us an excellent overview of the culture of Bhutan and the development there has been in counseling.

Our second presention was by Berni Darcy a Chairperson of the Irish Association for counseling and Psychotherapy. Berni gave us an insight to the process of becoming a counselor in Ireland and provided the group with an understanding of some of the struggles of counseling in Ireland.

After our lunch we had the opportunity to visit the Powerscourt House & Garden. It was beautiful!
The scenery was breathtaking and the gardens were beautiful.

Then the group made it's way to Glendalough where we received a short tour and presentation of the location. One of my favorite places thus far! There are not words to describe the peace and beauty of Glendalough. Everything about his place was beautiful! The mountains, the lake, the overview, and the opportunity to share it with an amazing group.

We ended the night at Johnny Fox's Pub where we all enjoyed dinner and drinks. We all had a Hooley night listening to live music and a dance performance!
